Antares Launch Coverage Update

Launch Rescheduled For April 21st 5pm est!

Wednesday’s launch of the Antares two-stage launch vehicle was scrubbed Wednesday for technical issue and scrubbed today for weather.

Upper level winds simply haven’t been cooperative and put the rocket launch off until Sunday April 21st at 5pm est.

Orbital Sciences Corporation released the following statement:

Sat, 20 Apr 2013 04:47:04 PM EDT

Excessive wind levels have caused mission managers to delay the launch attempt today of Orbital Sciences’ Antares rocket at the Wallops Flight Facility, Va.

The high-altitude wind speeds exceed range safety restrictions.

Launch now is scheduled for Sunday at 5 p.m. EDT.  NASA Television coverage will begin at 4:30 p.m.
