Countdown is underway!!

The Range count started on time at 9 a.m. EDT in preparation for today’s launch at 5 p.m. of Orbital Sciences Corp’s test flight of its Antares rocket from NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility on Wallops Island, Va. Currently the clock is running at approximately T-7 hours.

The pad close out crew is completing final configuration of the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport’s (MARS) Pad-0A. The team will verify the operation of critical pneumatic and cryogenic components before leaving the pad and allowing the remote control operations to begin.

Currently, the launch is at a 45% chance for launch based on weather.

April 15 – 12:30 – 1 p.m.: Registration and check-in; 1 – 4:30 p.m.: Tour & news briefing

April 16 – 9:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.: Tours, photo opportunities & news conferences

April 17 – 3 p.m.: Board buses for launch; – 5pm scheduled launch
