Antares Launch Coverage
The first fully integrated Antares rocket sits patiently on the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport Pad-0A at NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility.
Antares is a two-stage launch vehicle designed to provide responsive, low-cost, and reliable access to space for medium-class payloads weighing up to 6120 kg. this program is currently under development to demonstrate commercial re-supply of the International Space Station under a NASA Commercial Orbital Transportation Services (COTS) contract.
Antares Launch coverage begins on April 15th, 2013 at NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia. My Mom will be covering the launch if schedules hold. Look for her tweets and information updates here on my Galaxy’s blog.
The current schedule is: (All times EDT)
April 15 – 12:30 – 1 p.m.: Registration and check-in; 1 – 4:30 p.m.: Tour & news briefing
April 16 – 9:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.: Tours, photo opportunities & news conferences
April 17 – 3 p.m.: Board buses for launch
